Given the comprehensive website the Save Chaucer Fields campaign has gained considerable momentum in recent weeks and it is encouraging to see the high level of support they have achieved.
The recent success of the Westgate Community Trust and Westgate Towers again highlights the role that active community groups and local entrepreneurs can play in our society, both on the campaigning and social fronts.
In recent weeks St. Dunstans' has seen two large redevelopment projects commence at the former Halletts Garage and tyre depot sites, both of which are on St. Dunstans' Street.
Whilst these developments generated a lot of debate neither were deemed too controversial by residents and both have finally got underway after several years of preparation.
On one hand it feels like St. Dunstans' is on the brink of a new era, perhaps the most commercial in its long history? And on the other...St. Dunstans's, at least in parts, retains some of that villagey feel that we all enjoy.
If you are aware of any issues or opportunities for our community we'd love to hear from you. The SDRA AGM is also looming and we will announce details shortly. We hope to only spend a few minutes on the formalities and allocate the majority of the evening to invited speakers, food and wine! More details will be sent shortly.
